This work reviews the literature on the proposal of the school congress as an educational tool in secondary school. It analyzes how this methodology promotes interest in science among students, while also representing a new way of teaching them, addressing them from different perspectives to conventional ones. Among the advantages of the school congress, its low cost stands out, making it an accessible option for all educational centers. In addition, this methodology promotes the involvement of the entire educational community, not only the students, who assume a leading role in the organization and development of the congress, but also their peers and teachers, who act as guides and mentors. The conclusions of the review suggest that the school congress is an effective educational tool to promote the learning of science in secondary school in an attractive and motivating way. Its participatory and interdisciplinary nature makes it an innovative methodology that deserves to be implemented to a greater extent in classrooms
