Abstract

El género documental tiene muchas variedades dentro del mismo, una de estas ariedades es el documental rock o rockumental. El objetivo de este trabajo es el de repasar los inicios de este género con figuras como Donn Alan Pennebaker, estudiando grandes obras con bandas como los Rolling Stones como protagonistas. No obstante, nos centraremos en la figura del director Martin Scorsese dentro de este género, analizando su obra The Last Waltz tanto narrativa como esteticamente. Este análisis nos llevará también a realizar un estudio de la utilización que el director hace de la música rock dentro de sus producciones

The documentary genre has many varieties within it, one of these varieties is the documentary rock or rockumental. The aim of this work is to review the beginnings of this genre with figures like Donn Alan Pennebaker, studiying great productions with bands like The Rolling Stones as protagonists. However, we will focus on the figure of director Martin Scorsese within this genre, analyzing his film The Last Waltz both narrative and aesthetically. This análisis will also lead us to carry out a study of the director’s use of rock music in his productiones
