This project is about the television program Operación Triunfo, especially the 2017
edition, and what has meant the renewal of the format for society and the impact it has
had on social networks after six years of rest, to stop issuing at that time due to format
wear and lack of audience. The aim is to analyze the keys to its success through program
mechanics, transmedia communication and the fan phenomenon. To analyze all this, I
have proceeded to investigate the statistics of the impact of each program on social
networks, to compare this edition with others in terms of visualizations, audience, social
networks..., to inquire about the fan phenomenon and its influence on the record sector,
on tours, etc., and to assess how it has been the image washing of Spanish Television
regarding certain issues considered “taboos” formerly in the public network that have
been given visibility during the program. These investigations have been carried out from
a collection of web pages and articles from various media, visualizations of social
networks and audiovisual content to check numbers, and contacts with various former
contestants.
