Re-membrar: una tentativa de traducir, traicionar y transformar pasados, presentes y futuros

Abstract

Este trabajo de investigación artística aplicada se enfoca en explorar y ficcionar las memorias de dos personas cuyas vidas sexo-género disidentes tuvieron lugar a principios del siglo XX. Basado en casos reales pertenecientes a la genealogía consanguínea de le investigadore, el proyecto utiliza su archivo personal-familiar como punto de partida y motor creativo. Las historias de sus dos tatarabuelas —las raíces profundas de esta investigación— transcurren en dos territorios distintos: Brasil y España. Esta dualidad geográfica permite indagar en las relaciones históricas entre ambos contextos, abriendo preguntas sobre el funcionamiento del colonialismo, el racismo y las dinámicas migratorias transatlánticas de la época. A ello se suman las múltiples violencias estructurales ejercidas sobre los cuerpos y existencias sexo-género disidentes. El trabajo también dialoga con el legado de artistas que han sido una fuente de inspiración para le autore, especialmente en relación a la memoria, los archivos y la ficción. Así, la investigación busca llenar un vacío en las narrativas históricas, reivindicando las vidas, memorias y ancestralidades disidentes que han sido silenciadas u olvidadas. Además de una profunda labor investigadora y de archivo, este proyecto presenta creaciones visuales y escriturales que no solo materializan la exploración conceptual y contextual, sino que también abren paso a otros sentidos y saberes propios de una investigación artística contemporánea.

This work of applied artistic research focuses on exploring and fictionalizing the memories of two people whose gender-dissident lives took place in the early twentieth century. Based on real cases belonging to the author’s blood genealogy, the project uses her personal archive as a starting point and creative engine. The stories of her two great-great-grandmothers -the deep roots of this research- take place in two different territories: Brazil and Spain. This geographical duality makes it possible to investigate the historical relationships between the two contexts, opening questions about the workings of colonialism, racism and the migratory dynamics of the time. In addition, the multiple structural violences exercised on dissident bodies and sex-gender existences. The work also dialogues with the legacy of artists who have been a source of inspiration for the author, especially in relation to memory, archives and fiction. Thus, the research seeks to fill a gap in historical narratives, vindicating dissident lives, memories and ancestralities that have been silenced or forgotten. In addition to a deep research and archival work, this project presents visual and written creations that not only materialize the conceptual and contextual exploration, but also open the way to other senses and knowledge of a contemporary artistic research.
