Periodismo freelance en guerra: entre la vocación y la precariedad” es un podcast de cuatro episodios de diez minutos cada uno que retrata, a través de testimonios directos, la realidad de los periodistas freelance que cubren conflictos armados. Lejos de la imagen heroica o glamurizada del corresponsal de guerra, esta investigación sonora profundiza en las motivaciones, los miedos, las contradicciones éticas y las condiciones laborales de quienes deciden lanzarse al terreno por su cuenta, con o sin el respaldo de medios o agencias. El proyecto nace tras una entrevista con Alexander Martínez, estudiante de Periodismo que viajó a Ucrania junto a un amigo durante su último año de carrera. A partir de su experiencia y sumando el testimonio del fotoperiodista Pablo Miranzo, con años de trabajo freelance en distintas zonas de conflicto, el podcast construye un relato reflexivo y crítico sobre el oficio. El primer episodio, “Nadie nos pidió que fuéramos”, trata la vocación, la búsqueda de respaldo editorial y la precariedad del periodista freelance. El segundo, “¿Quién te cuida en la guerra?”, aborda la seguridad, el miedo y el papel del fixer, mientras que el tercero, “Contar el horror”, se centra en los dilemas éticos de documentar el sufrimiento ajeno. Finalmente, el cuarto episodio “El precio de estar allí”, reflexiona sobre el impacto familiar, la desconexión al volver y la dificultad de volver a la ‘normalidad’. El podcast no pretende dar respuestas definitivas, sino dar visibilidad a una realidad poco representada: la del periodista freelance que se juega su vida por contar lo que pasa. Un perfil cada vez más presente en las coberturas internacionales, pero que sigue estando en los márgenes del sistema mediático. El formato elegido, con narrativa sonora, cortes reales de entrevistas en profundidad y ambientación acústica, busca generar cercanía e invitar a una escucha reflexiva y crítica.

The project began after an interview with Alexander Martínez, a journalism student who traveled to Ukraine with a friend during his final year of university.
