YouTube is the main platform of online video and the most visited site by spanish people on the Internet according to the Estudio General de Medios (AIMC, 2018). In this social net in which primes the entertainment content, the intake of informative videos is increasing. This is due to the company promoting the distribution of videos of news in the last few years. In 2016, Youtube launches the Player for Publisher, a service that allows mass media to lower their costs and increase the scope of their news. For this reason, this Final Degree analyses the Youtube channel of El País, one of the Spanish journals that has adopted this player as their own. The objective is to get to know how the tool is used by this social net and which kind of content is published on their channel. This way, the investigation allows to prove if traditional media such as El País promotes innovation to deal with the disruptive changes of an industry in which the audiovisual information gains more importance each time. This case study has been carried out through a content analysis and an in-depth interview with Pablo Delgado, director of Digital Development of this journal. On general terms, the results obtained indicate that the majority of the analysed content has adapted to the new narratives of online video. However, it shows the lack of a fitting strategy for Youtube that is directed to the most present target on this social net: the young audience.
