According to UNESCO, 508 elements are currently recognized
in the intangible cultural heritage lists and a register
of good safeguarding practices, corresponding to
122 countries. In October 2018, the resolution of the Govern
Valencià was published in DOGV 8406, where a file
was opened to declare the Festival of Moors and Christians
of Alcoy well of immaterial cultural interest. We propose
an approach to the concept of Festera Music and a
tour of the Intangible Assets of the Valencian Community
and the Intangible Heritage of the United Nations. This
article is a statement of support and defense towards the
music of the party. It tries to praise the value of this musical
genre through a clearly expository intention about the
importance of music in the Festival.
