Brain injury is an affection that changes the life of the injured person as well as all the ones living together such as family members or caregivers. As a consequence, all members experience a wide range of changes in the family environment. In this environment, psychological and emotional affections are prone to appear. Proof of these affections are lack of expressiveness, increase of potential conflicts or isolation. This research provides a quasi-experimental design which aim is the promotion of Emotional Intelligence in injured patients’ siblings expecting, as a result, an improvement of the general family environment. As to assess psychological wellness, we have included the following questionnaires: Family Environment Scale (FES) and the BarOn Model of Emotional-Social Intelligence. Both filled in the beginning of the research and once we have concluded with the ten-lesson programme. The conclusions were the increasement in the different sub-scales. We want to emphasize the following ones: expression, active recreational orientation and family environment which were those with better progression. At the same time, potential conflicts were reduced. Moreover, the Emotional Intelligence Quotient rose slightly showing, as a result, better adaptative abilities that those shown in the beginning of the programme.
