Abstract:
In this paper, the aim was to assess the effect of different growing conditions (conventional, low inputs, and saline conditions) regarding some agronomic and quality characteristics (number of fruit collected by plant, average fruit weight, total production, content of soluble solid particles, and acidity) in a collection of De la pera tomato lines with different levels of genetic resilience to viruses, derived from the improvement programme of the EPSO-UMH. The total production for the conventional crop is superior to the other two, making it clear that both salinity excess and nutrient deficiency adversely affect production. In saline conditions fruits with higher value of soluble solids and acidity have been obtained. The acidity is the only character in which an effect of the genotype has been found, because the lines with resistance to TYLCV reached smaller value of acidity.
