Abstract:
An overview of the trematode (fluke) suborder Hemiurata Skrjabin & Guschanskaja, 1954, one of the most diverse groups of digeneans. They usually occur in the stomach and intestine mainly of marine teleost fishes but also in freshwater teleosts, elasmobranchs, amphibians, and reptiles, and have a wide geographical distribution, found in the Great Barrier Reef of Australia, the Indian Ocean, and the Atlantic Ocean. Includes discussion of general morphological characteristics, taxonomy, and life cycles.
