Psicología y cáncer

Abstract

The cancerous disease always has gone accompanied by psychological repercussions. The psychological factors related to the cancer are studied by the psychooonchology. The research is psychooonchology is fundamental to cause its development. In order to be able to make studies in this field with scientific guarantees, is necessary to include a solid diagnosis and quantified that includes a description of the anatomical location of the primary tumor, the histological type of the tumor, the sites of metastasis and those allow data to characterize the degree of development reached by the disease. This work describes to the definition and objectives of the psychooonchology, types of prevention, importance of psychological assessment, psychosocial intervention of the patient with cancer for the control of nausea and vomiting, pain and psychological measures of anxiety and depression, and methodology research in this area.

La enfermedad cancerosa siempre ha ido acompañada de repercusiones psicológicas. Los factores psicológicos relacionados con el cáncer son estudiados por la Psicooncología. La investigación en psicooncología es fundamental para propiciar su desarrollo. Para poder realizar estudios en este campo con garantías científicas, es necesario incluir un diagnóstico fiable y cuantificado que incluya la descripción del lugar anatómico del tumor primario, el tipo histológico del tumor, los lugares de las metástasis y cuantos datos permitan caracterizar el grado de desarrollo alcanzado por la enfermedad. En este trabajo se describe la definición y objetivos que persigue la Psicooncología, los tipos de prevención, la importancia de la evaluación psicológica, la intervención psicosocial del paciente con cáncer para el control de náuseas y vómitos, manejo psicológico del dolor y de ansiedad y depresión, y la metodología de investigación en esta área.
