Victoria Lomaskois a graphic artist whose work lies at the intersection of comics and journalism. Her work focuses on exposing social and political issues, using comics as a tool for testimony and shedding light on oppressed realities. Through her graphic chronicles—suchas those found in Other Russias(2020) and The Last Soviet Artist(2022)—, the author addresses themes like political repression, human rights, and the injustices suffered by minorities in Russia and other Soviet regions. Her style combines visual narrative with in-depth journalistic investigation, creating a bridge between documentation and artistic illustration. By analyzing her work, it becomes evident how comics can transcend their apparent boundaries to become a form of committed journalism capable of raising social awareness.
