The increased levels of resistance of infectious microorganisms to traditional antimicrobials is a major problem in today’s health, with elevated social and economic costs. One of the microorganisms that have such resistance is Streptococcus pneumoniae. In the development of new antimicrobials against these bacteria, is interesting to study the use of choline-binding modules (CBMs). The capacity and stability of choline binding by C-LytA and C-CPL1 had been studied, but we have little information about how the addition of these CBMs could affect the growth and viability of S. pneumoniae. Some trials are presented to compare the ability of inference in the growth of R6 strain of S. pneumoniae by adding the C-LytA, C-LytA-GFP, C-LytA-DAO and C-CPL1 modules.
