Historically, the educational system has neglected socio-emotional education. Nowadays, thanks to current normative and legislative changes, there is a growing interest in considering emotional intelligence as an important part of the educational endeavour leading to emotionally competent and socially responsible individuals. As for play, it facilitates learning and the development of cognitive, emotional, social, and physical skills. For these reasons, this Master's Thesis (TFM) proposes an intervention designed to improve the quality of socio-emotional management in primary education using board games. Prior to this proposal, a systematic review was conducted based on articles extracted from information sources such as Web of Science (WOS), Scopus, and ScienceDirect, from which 8 articles that met inclusion criteria were obtained. This proposal aims to improve students' emotional competence, as well as facilitate their relationships and social skills.
