INTRODUCTION: Paddle surfing (SUP) is a sport that has gained popularity in recent years. Numerous benefits are attributed to it, such as being a low-impact exercise, which improves aerobic and anaerobic capacity and muscular endurance. Lower extremity injuries are common and difficult to predict. However, there are some tests to predict injury risk: the Y Balance Test (YBT), which measures dynamic balance, and the Lateral Step Down Test (LSD), which evaluates the quality of movement. OBJECTIVE: To present the results obtained from YBT and LSD to assess the stability of healthy subjects who have started practicing SUP in various periods of time. MATERIAL AND METHODS: This study observes dynamic balance and movement quality in two groups of 15 SUP practitioners with different levels of experience, evaluating YBT and LSD. RESULTS: The more experienced group showed better reach scores in all directions of the YBT, except PM. There are no significant differences in the LSD between the groups, but the movement quality of all subjects was rated as "average", with superior performance in the dominant leg. CONCLUSION: More experienced SUP practitioners have better dynamic balance than less experienced ones. Both groups show "average" quality of movement. Although these findings are useful, more research is required to deepen knowledge about this sport.
