Hipoterapia, el arma ucraniana para recuperar a sus excombatientes

Abstract

“Riding in to the future” es una iniciativa que utiliza la hipoterapia para rehabilitar a militares ucranianos heridos en la guerra con Rusia. En un pueblo cerca de Leópolis, Alexandra Khandogina y voluntarios organizan actividades de hipoterapia cada fin de semana. Esta terapia, basada en el movimiento de los caballos, ayuda a tratar el estrés post-traumático y mejora tanto el estado físico como mental de los pacientes, incluidos aquellos que han perdido extremidades. Hasta ahora, unos 80 veteranos han participado. Alexandra coordina el proyecto junto con Natalka Sonechko, de la asociación Doloni Dotyk.

‘Riding in to the future’ is an initiative that uses hippotherapy to rehabilitate Ukrainian servicemen wounded in the war with Russia. In a village near Lviv, Alexandra Khandogina and volunteers organise hippotherapy activities every weekend. This therapy, based on the movement of horses, helps treat post-traumatic stress and improves both the physical and mental state of patients, including those who have lost limbs. So far, some 80 veterans have participated. Alexandra coordinates the project together with Natalka Sonechko from the Doloni Dotyk association.
