Introduction. Acquired brain injury (ABI) is an alteration in a healthy brain due to an acute injury of any origin after birth. Among all the people with impairments caused by ABI, 330.000 people have a decrease in their functional capacity and quality of life, with repercussions on their occupational performance in daily life. The intervention of aquatic therapy allows through this procedure a significant improvement in their daily life. Objective. The main purpose of this guide is to provide information to occupational therapists on the use of aquatic therapy in ABI as well the benefits of using aquatic therapy and the different methods of AT. Development of the guide. For the preparation of the guide, information was obtained by carrying out an exhaustive review of the existing literature on the subject, consulting the databases PubMed, ScienciaDirect and DamaUMH, as well as some specific web pages on the AT methods explained. After this process, a guide has been designed through the tool and website “Canva”. The guide is composed by 44 pages and consists of 6 sections with their corresponding sub-sections.
