This paper is based on the hypothesis: artistic creation favours anxiety management in adolescents. The objectives are to investigate the relationship between artistic expression and anxiety, as well as to identify whether there are tools for emotional management in the classroom. The literature review shows that art is a fundamental human need that nourishes the mind and soul, and plays a crucial role in cognitive, emotional and social development. Several empirical studies agree that art therapy decreases anxiety and depression in adolescents, being useful for the expression of complex emotions and the development of healthy coping methodologies. In addition, Open Studio Therapy (OS) has shown benefits in socially isolated adolescents, improving their identity and social reintegration. Likewise, the integration of artistic creation in the school environment has shown improvements in self-esteem and group cohesion. Innovative programmes such as Pre-Text have been shown to be effective in reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression in school settings. In conclusion, the review supports the hypothesis that artistic creation favours the emotional management of anxiety in adolescents. However, it highlights the need for further research in the Spanish educational context to validate these findings and promote the integration of art into the school curriculum as a tool for emotional management.
