Over the years, many media outlets have violated fundamental rights such as the right to honor, self-image and privacy when talking about and reporting on female musical artists. In general, they have prioritized talking about their private lives, their physiques and their relationships, even going so far as to sexualize them in texts and multimedia, before talking about their own music. For this reason, in this study, an analysis of 93 pieces published in the Spanish digital newspaper El País has been carried out, whose protagonists are the American artists Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus, as well as the Spanish Aitana Ocaña, with the aim of deconstructing media representation, identifying which are the most recurrent themes dealt with in these pieces and evaluating whether they comply with the ethics and deontological codes of the medium itself. After this analysis, it is concluded that topics related to their personal lives are much more frequent than those that report on their professional careers. This is largely due to reader demand and consumption. At the same time, there is an evolution in the informative treatment of these same topics and the appearance and influence of social networks is valued, which have undoubtedly promoted quick and accessible information for the young population.
