Geographic profiling is a criminal investigation technique, which is based on environmental criminological theories, its main objective is to identify the place of residence or base of attack of a serial offender, this is extremely important for crime investigators, since it allows them to limit the search areas of a criminal, as well as prioritize lines of investigation when there are several suspects. (Rossmo 2000) For its use, it is necessary to have knowledge of the theory of criminal patterns (Brantingham, Brantingham, 1991) and the Canter circle, in addition to the use of geographic information systems and software such as CrimeStat (Levine & Associates, 2013), in addition there are computer programs developed especially to make geo-profiles, such as Rigel (Rossmo 2000) and Dragnet (Canter et al., 2012) In this Final Master's Work, the criminal geographic profiling will be used for crimes of sexual assault in serial cases, which occurred in the last decade in the Metropolitan Region of Santiago de Chile, this will be supported with the use of Geography Information Systems, (Arcgis ), databases of the Chilean Police (Carabineros) and the information available on this technique in the world and their respective documents.
