La Guardia Civil y el primer franquismo (1939-1959)

Abstract

El presente Trabajo de Fin de Grado tiene como objetivo principal poner de manifiesto la importancia de la Guardia Civil como institución protectora del orden público y mantenimiento de la seguridad ciudadana, concretamente durante el llamado Primer Franquismo (1939-1959). No obstante, y aunque pongamos el énfasis en esos años, se llevará a cabo un análisis cronológico desde sus orígenes hasta llegar a la Guerra Civil Española. A continuación, contextualizaremos la política de Franco y su relación con esta fuerza de seguridad. De igual modo, investigaremos y trabajaremos en base a temas relacionados con la estructura propia de la Guardia Civil, la legislación, los símbolos, lemas y armas, entre otros. Terminaremos, pues, con una serie de resultados donde observaremos a ciencia cierta cómo era la relación del dictador con la Guardia Civil.

The main objective of this Final Degree Project is to highlight the importance of the Civil Guard as an institution that protects public order and maintains public safety, specifically during the so-called First Franco regime (1939-1959). However, and although we put the emphasis on those years, a chronological analysis will be carried out from its origins until reaching the Spanish Civil War. Next, we will contextualize Franco’s policy and its relationship with this security force. Similarly, we will investigate and work based on issues related to the structure of the Civil Guard, legislation, symbols, slogans and weapons, among others. We will finish with a series of results where we will observe for sure how the dictator’s relationshipwith the Civil Guard.
