BACKGROUND It is estimated that in 2020 there were 19.3 million new cases of cancer and about 10 million deaths globally. This disease is characterized by the uncontrolled proliferation of abnormal cells and a deterioration in the quality of the normal functioning of the immune system. The conventional treatments so far, to deal with this disease are: surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, along with newly developed immunotherapy. From them derive side effects that can significantly affect the quality of life of the patient. Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) represents the strongest and worriest adverse effect of this treatment. OBJECTIVES To evaluate the efficacy of neuromuscular taping (NMV) or Kinesiotape (KT) as a technique to attenuate nausea and vomiting in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. METHODOLOGY The basis of a two-arm, single-blind, randomised controlled trial has been described. First, a preliminary pilot study of 20 participants will be conducted on the basis of which the results will be extrapolated for the final calculation of the total trial sample. People diagnosed with cancer and undergoing chemotherapy treatment will be selected, both men and women between the ages of 18 and 65. They will then be randomly assigned to one of the groups: intervention or control. During the course of the study (6 weeks), data will be collected using two validated tools and patients will be followed up.
