Introduction: Parkinson's disease is a chronic neurological condition that affects millions of people worldwide. It is characterised by a wide range of symptoms, tremors, muscle rigidity, bradykinesia and problems with balance and coordination. Falls are a common problem in this disease, especially in the advanced stages. Physiotherapy is a frequently used intervention to treat postural instability and prevent falls in people with Parkinson's disease. Objectives: to evaluate the efficacy of physiotherapy work in the prevention of falls in people with Parkinson's disease, by means of a systematic review in order to identify the most effective physiotherapy interventions to prevent falls. Material and methods: Systematic search in different scientific databases: Pubmed, Cochrane Library and PEDro, including a total of 10 articles. Results: These articles used methods consisting of rhythmic auditory stimulation, exercises with motor complexity, exercise based on interactive video games, Tai Chi, balance training and technology-assisted walking. All studies included exercises for balance improvement, gait and fall prevention. Conclusions: Physiotherapy is an important and effective tool for preventing falls and improving quality of life. Although more research is needed to determine the most effective interventions for each patient, the current evidence is encouraging and highlights the importance of physiotherapy exercise as a fundamental part of treatment to address the symptoms and complications of Parkinson's disease.
