What is not seen is not known. I think that's a great phrase to start explaining this personal project called TFG. The rise of women's football is a reality. Equality in sport exists, but it is still a challenge. In Spain, women's football came to our homes late, a fact that affected the generation of a socially accepted women's football. It came back in 1971, but it was not until 1983 that it was integrated by the president of the RFEF, Pablo Porta. Even with quality and milestones, it was not until 32 years (2015) later that the Spanish women's national team played a World Cup. From there, a gap was opened, a before and after in women's football in Spain. A new history was beginning and it would be full of protagonists who have written their own names. Who doesn't know Alexia Putellas today? The answer to this is demonstrated by the social network Instagram with 2.8 million followers of her personal profile. There is no doubt, women's football has a before and an after, but what is the role of the media on this road to equality? What techniques have been used? According to a survey carried out for the TFG, which analyses the dissemination and treatment of women's football by Valencian public television, only 30% know about the season of the women's team Levante U.D. compared to 70% who know about the men's team Valencia C.F. The figures continue to speak: one million followers separate a women's football social network from a men's football social network in the Valencian Community. What role does Valencian public television play in the fight for equality in women's football?
