Abstract

La tecnología blockchain nació para dar soporte al Bitcoin y desde entonces no ha dejado de evolucionar, además de ser la tecnología que soporta a miles de las criptomonedas actuales, esta ha servido de herramienta perfecta para la comisión de delitos, que tanto las policías alrededor del mundo, como las autoridades gubernativas de muchos países están empezando a legislar, pero no todos los estados tienen la misma visión de estos criptoactivos, en algunos casos se legisla para legalizar su uso, en otros casos para prohibirlas totalmente y en otros muchos casos para hacer una regulación que permita un uso licito y seguro de las mismas.

Blockchain technology was created to support Bitcoin, and since then it has become an emerging technology that has the potential to dramatically revolutionize many different fields. Nowadays, it supports thousands of cryptocurrencies. Blockchain has also served as the perfect tool for cryptocurrency-based crime and money laundering. Therefore, Police officers and Government authorities around the globe are regulating these operations. The problem is that not all countries share the same point of view regarding cryptocurrency, so in some countries it is completely legal, while in others it is forbidden and in the majority of them, it is being regulated to allow a legal and safe use of cryptocurrency.
