Located on the Asian continent, Afghanistan borders six other countries and is landlocked. Its orography is mostly mountainous, which limits its economy, with agriculture predominating, and communication between the different peoples that make it up. Its Gross Domestic Product, until barely a year ago, was based on international aid (suspended when the Taliban came to power) and the cultivation of poppy, the poppy from which heroin is made. Today, after the Taliban came to power, poverty is estimated to have increased by 59%. In terms of human rights, the first to be affected are women's rights. They are currently ineligible for education, despite the Taliban group's insistence that they will be allowed to go to school, they have had to give up their jobs and the burqa has been made compulsory again. Although the sale of organs is not a common practice in Afghanistan, it has begun to take hold, especially among women, in order to pay off debts or survive a year on the bare minimum in the country. It is not only enough to sell daughters for forced marriages. This is because the supply is so great in both cases that payment for them has declined. Afghan activists, far from staying at home, continue to demonstrate, even though they have to do so with greater security because of reprisals, so that the rights they have won in these 20 years of democracy are not taken away. Afghanistan has been and continues to be a country of great instability due to all the conflicts it has suffered, and the arrival of the Taliban to power does not augur well for the future.
