In the following final degree project, a study on the European Union trade marks is carried out. Presently, it is the Regulation (EU) 2017/1001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 June 2017 on the European Union trade mark the one obliged to provide uniform trade mark protection throughout the European Union. On the one hand, we will open the paperwork giving voice to the great importance of the distinctive signs for the enterprises offering a special focus on the trade marks as they are used to differentiate the goods and services in the diverse markets. Therefore, they perform a fundamental role in the commercial sectors. Additionally, as the title itself indicates, we will focus on European Union trade marks, departing from the genuine definition of the European Union trade mark to the different absolute grounds for refusal, the diverse processes involved in the action of the registration of the EUTM and the possible cancellations proceedings. All this is possible thanks to the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) stablished in Alicante to which we will confer a great interest since it is a vital part of this work. In fact, we will leave it for the end. As a final closure, I will draw a brief conclusion about the final degree project.
