Introduction: the work of the deep muscles is responsible for giving stability, strength and balance to our body. Research is currently being carried out on the effect of muscle work on pelvic floor dysfunction in women. Methodology: bibliographic review in the PUBMED, EMBASE and PEDro databases about the effect of training the transversus abdominis muscle in postpartum women, organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. Outcomes: a total of 13 articles have been obtained, 38' 46% of women suffered urinary incontinence and 30' 77% organ prolapse. Combined physiotherapy (Transversus Abdominis and pelvic floor muscles) did not provide a more effective treatment than pelvic floor muscle training. However, the data suggested that both treatments were clinically effective. On the other hand, 23.07% were postpartum women. It has been shown that the instruction of the pelvic floor muscles was significantly more effective than the contraction of the transversus abdominis, but that both techniques were related and increased the distance between inter-rectus. Conclusion: the transversus abdominis contraction and the pelvic floor muscles training are effective in treating pelvic floor dysfunctions. However, pelvic floor muscle training has been found to be more effective for women with this type of dysfunction.
