Introduction: Dupuytren's disease is established as a disease that affects adult men without
apparent cause, which produces a disability that has an essential impact on all aspects of
activities of daily living in both basic and instrumental activities of daily living. The lack of
information about the disease causes, episodes of anxiety about how the disease will develop
and the possible complications that may occur during the process.
This disease has a minimal incidence in the population, although this does not mean that it has
no importance in the lives of the people who suffer from it. The family is a main support for the people who suffer from it. For this reason, it is essential to
provide basic and necessary information, in a clear and concise manner, to both users and family
members. This information is provided from the point of view of Occupational Therapy, on
how to follow the course of the pathology, and the possible adaptations that can be obtained, to
return to perform the activities of daily living important to the user and achieve improved
quality of life and decreased feelings of anxiety. Objective: To inform people who have the disease about the day-to-day repercussions,
especially about the process to be followed, in a clear manner.
Guide development: creation of a guide for people with Dupuytren's disease, with the
contribution of a specialized Occupational Therapy professional. In addition, various sources
of information such as medical books, databases such as: Pudmed and Scopus are used, making
use of keywords. Dissemination strategy: through social networks, association web platforms, hospital medical
services and outpatient services that are related to the pathology.
