Resumen :
La ansiedad se define como patológica cuando alcanza unos niveles tan elevados que

Anxiety is defined as pathological when it reaches such high levels that it is maladaptive
for the person who suffers it, preventing them from developing their lives normally. In
health area II of the Region of Murcia, the number of people between 15 and 24 years old
who suffer from anxiety, according to the latest National Health Survey (2019), is 4.1%,
estimating a considerable increase after the pandemic caused by COVID-19. From
primary mental health care services, a considerable increase in referrals by the family
doctor of patients between the ages of 16 and 24 due to recently onset anxiety has been
observed. Relaxation techniques combined with psychotherapy are currently used to deal with
situations that generate anxiety in daily life. Various studies show that the use of virtual
reality in the treatment of mental illness has generated promising results for 25 years. Its
use as part of the learning and practice of relaxation techniques emerges as an innovative
approach, generating a motivational feeling in the youth population when carrying out
these exercises. Therefore, it would be interesting to be able to apply virtual reality to traditional relaxation groups, since its use has proven to be faster, more efficient, and
more attractive to users. This project aims to carry out a group intervention that uses virtual reality for the teaching
and practice of relaxation techniques in patients with anxiety disorder and aged between
16 and 24 years. This is a quasi-experimental study in which it will be evaluated whether
there is a significant decrease in the level of anxiety.
