Feminism has recently become a topic of interest to the general public. A survey carried out by 40Db and CTXT in 2018, concluded that 52% of the Spanish population defines themselves as feminists, albeit the significant divergence between sexes. Whilst 58,6% of Spanish women claim to be participants of feminists movement, the number of men who designate themselves as feminists drops to 45%. The patriarchal system, built on gender inequality, feds on numerous social behaviours that discriminate women for the simple fact of being so. Patriarchy spreads transversely throughout society. It is present in public institutions and administrations, in social and labor relations and also in our day-to-day interactions. Given the impossibility of covering all these behaviors, this work focusses and develops around three, out of the many, social dimensions in which gender discrimination is tangible; female beauty stereotypes, religious institutions and sex work. Representatives of these social groups ranging from theologians, feminist association activists, anthropologists to theoretical experts on the social construction of gender, lend their voices to weave this project to life. This report aims to illustrate and approach these different realities from a personal and professional perspective.
