Introduction: One of the objectives of the Occupational Therapist in the school environment is to provide and facilitate the necessary means for the child to develop autonomously and independently. The activities that are included in the school environment are not only exclusive to education, but also develop basic activities of daily living, such as food. 80% of the children with disabilities present some type of problem in the food, being able to cause serious problems in their development or to delay this one.
Objective: The aim of this study is to improve the autonomy in feeding children in the school environment.
Methodology: An intervention study started in September 2017, coinciding with the beginning of the school year and ending in June 2018, with a sample size of 3 children. The total number of sessions will be 24, the sessions will begin prior to the time of going to the dining room, with a first week of evaluation and leave the last week to reevaluate the results, in addition to be carrying a monthly follow up, both in the dining room School, as in the home. Not only will the child be evaluated, the family and the dining room monitor will also be tested, in addition to the occupational therapist's own, these evaluations have been specifically created by the Occupational Therapist for this intervention protocol. With the results obtained in the test, the objectives and the needs of the intervention were presented.
