The Antisocial Disorder of the Personality is included within Disorders of the Personality. People
presenting this diagnosis are distinguished by deception, imulsiveness, irresponsibility or lack of
remorse. These characteristics boost the transgression of social norms, criminal acts and violent
behavior. For this reason, there is a very high percentage of offenders with this disorder in
penitentiary institutions.
After a throughout review of the treatments carried out in the hospitalization phase, we found some
problems regarding such treatments including the lack of therapeutic preparation within these
institutions, the stigma this group faces, inappropriate interventions and the absence of therapeutic
alternatives. This issues coupled with the characteristics of these individuals highlight the need to
carry out a prison intervention program for inmates with ADP.
“Investing in my future” was created for the very reasons listed early as an intervention proposal
with a cognitive-behavioral approach, aimed exclusively at this population. Therefore, the aspects
we will work on are the following: problem identification, social skills, impulse control, emotional
regulation, substance abuse and problem solving and coping skills. The last sessions will be aimed
at relapse prevention , along follow-up sessions after 6 and 12 months pursuing re-education at a
cognitive, behavioral and social level, promoting a change in thinking, a reduction in violent
behaviors and achieving social reintegration
