Estudio transversal: ¿son los patios un entorno adecuado para el desarrollo sensorial y psicomotor de los niños?

Abstract

Introducción: Para adquirir un rendimiento académico óptimo debe haber un buen desarrollo previo de los sistemas sensoriales y psicomotor. No existen estudios que describan que oportunidades de desarrollo de estos sistemas ofrecen los patios en el sistema escolar actual. Objetivos: Evaluar la opinión de padres/madres/tutores legales y profesores/-as sobre las oportunidades de desarrollo de los sistemas psicomotores y sensoriales de sus hijos/-as de 3 a 12 años en los patios de 2 colegios de San Vicente del Raspeig (Alicante). Material y métodos: Estudio transversal, consistente en la recogida de opiniones de padres/madres/tutores legales y profesores/-as respecto a las oportunidades sensoriales y psicomotoras que ofrece el patio de sus hijos/-as a través de un cuestionario “ad hoc”, y su posterior análisis. Han participado 262 padres y 17 profesores de dos colegios del municipio citado. Resultados: La mayoría de las opiniones son positivas o neutras. La opinión de padres respecto a las oportunidades sensoriomotoras, la adecuación de la estructura y la valoración global del patio está relacionada con la edad y con el colegio: a mayor edad mejor opinión, y opinión más positiva en el colegio “Azorín” que en “Jaume I”. No existe relación entre la opinión de los profesores y su especialidad, aula o colegio. La opinión entre padres y profesores difiere respecto a la adecuación de la estructura. Conclusión: Las opiniones recogidas en uno de los colegios confirman el déficit de oportunidades de desarrollo de los sistemas sensoriales y psicomotor en el patio, no siendo posible confirmarlo en el otro colegio.

Introduction: In order to acquire an optimal academic performance there must be a good previous development of the sensory and psychomotor systems. There are no studies that describe the opportunities for development that these systems offers in the schoolyards at the current school system. Objectives: To evaluate the opinion of parents / legal guardians and teachers about the development opportunities of the psychomotor and sensory systems of their children from 3 to 12 years in the playgrounds of 2 schools of San Vicente del Raspeig (Alicante). Material and methods: CrossCross-sectional study, consisting of the collection of opinions of parents / legal guardians and teachers regarding the sensory and psychomotor opportunities offered by their children's playground through an “ad hoc” questionnaire and its analysis. 262 parents and 17 teachers from two schools has been involved. Results: Most opinions are positive or neutral. The opinion of parents regarding sensorimotor opportunities, the adequacy of the structure and the overall evaluation of the playground is related to age and school: the older the better opinion, and the more positive opinion in the "Azorín" school than in " Jaume I ". There is no relationship between the opinion of teachers and their specialty, classroom or school. The opinion between parents and teachers differs regarding the adequacy of the structure. Conclusions: The opinions collected in one of the schools confirm the deficit of opportunities for the development of sensory and psychomotor systems in the playground, and it is not possible to confirm in the other school
