Silicon phthalocyanines have great versatility, due to which these molecules are being studied for use in different fields. One of the characteristics of phthalocyanines is that they are optically active molecules, which when irradiated with a certain wavelength can trigger a response. This characteristic makes them ideal for use in optical devices, in artificial photosynthetic systems, as sensors or as new light-sensitive materials.
In the present work, it is intended to synthesize four peripherally substituted silicon phthalocyanines, two with p-toluenesulfide groups that have donor character and 2 with p-toluenesulfonyl groups with acceptor character. In addition, they will be axially functionalized with carboxylic groups that allow the union to metallic nodes generating organic bonds for the formation of surface metal-organic framework (SURMOF). These SURMOFs will be used to create optical microcavities where to study the QED effect
