Abstract

En Significarse. Labor de aguja parto de aquellas disciplinas que definen una feminidad como referente de las labores culturalmente asociadas a las mujeres. Establezco el bordado y la costura como las mejores herramientas para presentar una realidad que la norma ha castigado. Hablo de lo monstruoso y lo abyecto, la relación con mi cuerpo y mis órganos. Con mi propuesta, la noción de hogar se desprende de los límites físicos. Explorar y conocer mi cuerpo y saber cómo se relaciona con otros cuerpos y objetos escribe mi biografía. Hablo de herencia, de aquellas prácticas que me relacionan con el pasado. Utilizar el textil une el tiempo, la herencia, los cuerpos y la piel. Cada puntada narra una historia de manera similar a las palabras.

Signify yourself. Needle labor speaks of those disciplines that define a femininity as a reference of the work culturally associated with women. I establish embroidery and sewing as the best tools to present a reality that the norm has punished. I talk about the monstrous and the abject, the relationship with my body and my organs. With my proposal, the notion of home follows from physical boundaries. Exploring and knowing my body and knowing how it relates to other bodies and objects writes my biography. I'm talking about heritage, about those practices that relate me to the past. Using textiles unites time, heritage, bodies and skin. Each stitch tells a story in a similar way to words.
