Más allá / Beyond / Aldilá. Activismo plurisexual e interseccional en ILGA-Europe 2014

Abstract

La investigaciónse centra en la bisexualidad en la comunidad de activistas LGBTIQ+ en Europa para establecer puntos de conexión entre las otredades bi+ trans+ e intersex y su activismo. En los últimos treinta años, el activismo LGBTIQ+ se ha concentrado en los derechos legales y, dado que es muy difícil establecer una agenda política bi+, muchos activistas han optado por centrarseen cambios legislativos que afectan sectores específicos de la comunidad en lugar de volcarse para la liberación sexual de todxs. Muchas personas con prácticas bi+ prefieren identificarse con diferentes etiquetas o son invisibilizadas en asociaciones y organizaciones LGBTIQ+ debido a la bifobia y los prejuicios sobre la bisexualidad. Como resultado, la comunidad bi+ está muy fragmentada, las necesidades especificas de las personas bi+ son ignoradas y en muchos países europeos la comunidad bi+ y el activismo bi+ tienen poca visibilidad y recursos. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo dar voz al espectro menos visible de la comunidad LGBTIQ+a través de la producción de un documental con entrevistas a siete activistas de diferentes países en la Conferencia LGBTI+ IILGA-Europe del 2014 en Riga (Letonia) sobre su experiencia personal y su activismo bisexual, trans, intersexual y interseccional.Para actualizar mi investigación he examinado los cambios legales que han afectado la comunidad LGBTIQ+ en estos países en los últimos años.

The focus of the research has been to investigate bisexuality in the EuropeanLGBTIQ+ activist community and to establish connections between bi+, trans+ and intersex otherness and activism. In the last thirty yearsLGBTIQ+ activism has concentrated on legal rights and since it is very difficult to establish a bi+ political agenda, many activists have chosen to focus on obtaining changes in the law for specific sectors of theLGBTIQ+ community rather than on sexual liberation for all. Many people with bi+ practices prefer to identify themselves with different labels or are invisibilized inLGBTIQ+ associations and organisations due to biphobia and prejudices about bisexuality. As a result, the bi+ community is very fragmented, the needs of bi+ people are ignored and in many European countries the bi+ community and bi+ activism have little visibility and resources. This investigation aims to give voice to the less visible spectrum of theLGBTIQ+ community by producing a documentary with interviews to seven activists from different countries at the 2014 LGBTI+ ILGA-Europe Conference in Riga (Latvia) about their personal experience and their bisexual, trans, intersex and intersectional activism. In order to bring my research up-to-date I have investigated the legal changes affecting theLGBTIQ+ community in these countries in the last few years.
