Representació i tractament de l’esport femení al diari Superdeporte

Abstract

En l’actualitat, l’esport és un fenomen social de gran repercussió degut, en bona mesura, a la influència dels mitjans de comunicació. És per això que ha esdevingut un element clau per als diaris de informació general i més concretament per als diaris especialitzats en la informació esportiva que encapçalen el rànquing en nombre de lectors a Espanya. No obstant això, la premsa esportiva és considerada una de les que presenta més diferències en el tractament per raó de sexe. Aquestes desigualtats existents des de la perspectiva de gènere es veuen reflectides en el nombre d’informacions i pàgines ocupades i pel tractament i representació mediàtica que reben les esportistes front els seus col·legues masculins. Encara ens trobem endinsats en un vocabulari estereotipat, androcèntric i sexista i en unes actituds cap a l’esport femení que no es corresponen amb el nivell assolit per les esportistes. En aquest sentit, segueix sent una tasca pendent la presència i la repercussió de l’esport femení a la premsa esportiva tant a nivell autonòmic com nacional. Aquest Treball Fi de Grau analitza la representació i el tractament que dona el diari Superdeporte a l’esport femení de la Comunitat Valenciana. L’objectiu és conèixer la quantitat de notícies sobre dones esportistes, equips femenins i de quina manera tracten aquesta informació. D’aquesta manera, la investigació permet comprovar com les desigualtats de gènere estan presents a l’àmbit de la premsa esportiva autonòmica i local. L’estudi s’ha dut a terme mitjançant una anàlisi de contingut durant tres mesos continuats del diari esmentat i els resultats obtinguts, en línies generals, corroboren que aquestes desigualtats de gènere a l’àmbit periodístic estan molt presents.

Nowadays, sport is a social phenomenon with a great impact due to the influence of the media. For that reason it supposes an important part in the newspapers which offers general information and, more concretely, in the newspapers that focus only on the sport information which are on the top regarding to the number of lectors in Spain. Nevertheless, in sport news appears most of the differences about the treatment in terms of gender. Inequalities that exist from the perspective of gender are reflected in the difference of information and number of pages that occupy and for the treatment and representation that have the female athletes in comparison with the male athletes. We are still submerged in a stereotyped, andocentric and sexist vocabulary and, also, in certain attitudes towards the female sport far from what it deserves. It is still a pending task the presence and the repercussion of female sport in the sport news in both regional and national level. For that reason, this Final Degree Project analyze the representation and the treatment of the Superdeporte newspaper to the female sport of the Valencian Community. The objective is to know how many news are about female athletes, female teams and in which way that information is treated in that newspaper in particular. In this way, the information allow us to check that the gender inequalities are also present in the autonomic and local sport news. The study have been carried out through an analysis of the content of the newspaper during three months and the general results bear out that this gender inequalities are very present in the journalist scope.
