El trato del abuso sexual infantil en prensa: Análisis evolutivo y de actualidad

Abstract

Las noticias sobre abuso sexual infantil cada vez están más presentes en los medios de comunicación. En la actualidad, casi todos los días aparecen en prensa noticias de este tipo, todo lo contrario a lo que pasaba hace cinco décadas, cuando apenas se le daba importancia a esta clase de noticias. Un cambio en la mentalidad de la sociedad está favoreciendo esta situación. Se está comenzado a afrontar el problema de la pederastia, y la población demanda noticias de este tipo, lo que hace tiempo era un tabú, ahora es un problema por el que se ha de luchar. Dentro de esta lucha, los medios de comunicación adquieren un papel fundamental, ya que son el medio por el que la gente se informa y conoce los casos. Por lo tanto, la prensa adquiere una gran responsabilidad, no solo en informar, sino también en concienciar y prevenir este problema. ! El objetivo de esta investigación consiste en comprobar como los periodistas y los periódicos tratan las noticias sobre abuso sexual infantil, usando de guía una serie de documentos realizados para este fin por diversas organizaciones. Se pretende demostrar que aún queda aspectos en los que los periodistas cometen errores a la hora de contar estas noticias. ! Para ello se analiza las noticias desde 1976 hasta la actualidad, y se tendrá en cuenta aspectos como el uso adecuado del lenguaje, las imágenes, el sensacionalismo y el papel de la víctima y agresor. Además de comparar los datos obtenidos en el pasado con el presente para demostrar que ha habido una mejoría, a pesar de que que aún quedan muchos aspectos por mejorar, en especial, la implicación del papel de la víctima.

The news about child sexual abuse is increasingly present in the media. Currently, almost every day news of this type appears in the press, quite the opposite of what happened five decades ago, when this type of news was hardly given importance. A change in the mentality of society is favouring this situation. The problem of paedophilia is beginning to be tackled, and the population is demanding news of this kind, which was a taboo some time ago now is a problem against which to fight. ! Within this struggle, the media have a fundamental role to play, as they are the means by which people are informed and aware of cases. Therefore, the press has a great responsibility not only to inform, but also to raise awareness and prevent this problem. The objective of this research is to see how journalists and newspapers deal with news about child sexual abuse, using a series of documents produced for this purpose by various organisations as a guide. The objective is to show that there are still areas where journalists make mistakes in reporting this news. For this purpose, the news from 1976 to the present day is analysed, and aspects such as the appropriate use of language, images, sensationalism and the role of the victim and abuser will be taken into account. In addition to comparing the data obtained in the past with the present to show that there has been an improvement, despite the fact that there are still many aspects to be improved, in particular the involvement of the victim's role.
