Colorrectal cancer corresponds to the second cause of cancer death in Spain. It´s estimated that only half of patients with carcinomas of colon and rectum will survive more than five years. The patient with this type of pathology does not just have to face a serious illness that is also associated with the possibility of death, but also must adapt to the various symptoms and signs that his body can experience, among them, the alteration of the physical image (caused by the colostomy), thus being another important and influential stressor for the quality of life of the patient. The present study aims to perform an intervention on self-esteem in a colostomized patient, with the aim of finding out if there are improvements in this and other variables (quality of life, anxiety and depression)that will be evaluated through the questionnaires FACT-G, Hospitalary Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) and the Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale. The results obtained agree with our initial hypothesis, since improvements are produced in all the variables.es
