Currently, alcohol and cocaine consumption is becoming more frequent, even in pregnant women, as it the period in which consumption predominates covers their reproductive stage. Pregnancy and drug abuse have multiple consequences for both the mother, the fetus and the neonate. In order to know these consequences, a bibliographic review has been carried out, gathering information from different studies to compare data about it. Several databases have been used to perform the search, such as Dialnet, SciELO, PubMed, Web of Science, among others. The most common mental health complications due to prenatal alcohol exposure are personality disorders, substance abuse and ADHD, while physical ones are limitations of physical development within the uterus and after birth, characteristic facial features and neurodevelopmental alterations. As for the most prevalent mental health complications due to cocaine use are substance abuse disorders and ADHD, and the physical consequences are abortion, fetal death in the uterus and placental abruption.
