Depression is a mental disorder that affects millions of people around the world, causing suicides which are the first non-natural death cause in Spain and the second death cause between young people from 15 to 29 years old. To know what data to post and what not to inform and not aggravate the situation is a hard decision that media try to solve setting guidelines in their stylebooks. Media like El País, El Mundo or RTVE, attend how to front a news that includes suicides in their stylebooks, sensitive themes section. Comparing the quantity of news that include the term ‘depression’ posted by these media at the same month (June of 2021), we can see a big difference in front of other popular terms like ‘football’ or ‘Amazon’. The news about ‘football’ overcame in all cases the 400, while with ‘depression’ as theme the maximum was 6.

On the other hand, psychiatrists continue defending the use of this medications and support themselves on studies. The pandemic has also affected the mental health of people and the quality of the information, when the media flooded with fast news and little contrasted. This affects the right of information, collected in the Article 20 of the Constitution of 1978 and increases the stigma around depression, which is poorly treated in many cases
