In the present investigation, silver and gold nanoparticles (NPs) have been synthesized through oxidation-reduction reactions, starting from AgNO3 and HAuCl4 as precursors, respectively. As reducing agents, on the one hand, traditional reagents have been used, varying their relationship with respect to the metal salt, in order to evaluate how it affected the formation of NPs. On the other hand, given that these agents are usually not very respectful with the environment, new protocols have been developed for a green synthesis, in which the reducing agent has been replaced by a natural extract. All NPs have been characterized by UV-visible spectrometry, to confirm their formation, as well as using a particle size analyzer. In turn, the stability of NPs has been evaluated under different conditions and the ability of certain products to increase said stability has been explored. Finally, it has been possible to visualize the morphology of the NPs using a FESEM electron microscope in scanning transmission mode (STEM).
