Obesity is currently considered an epidemic due to the relentless growth in its prevalence. Increasingly, it is more common to suffer from childhood obesity, which means an increase in the probability of continuing to have obesity in adult life, in addition to the emergence of complications and health problems related to it. Therefore, it is important to intervene in childhood obesity. During the intervention, work should be done in a multidisciplinary way, since childhood obesity can be caused and maintained by multiple factors of various kinds. On an emotional level, it is important to work on certain psychological variables; at the behavioral level, the modification of habits; and at the social level, the inclusion and active participation of parents, considered a fundamental piece, since they are a source of support and motivation for minors. This intervention program includes various variables that range from increasing knowledge and learning about healthy eating habits and physical activity, to the psychological variables of self-esteem and anxiety and various cognitive-behavioral techniques to work on them. All this seeks, by treating obesity at different levels, to improve the well-being and health of the participants, trying to reduce their BMI, at least 10 percentiles.
