Fashion is a concept whose limits are not established, that is, it is a very broad concept.
Likewise, it is recognized as a communication and dissemination tool for various complaints.
One of them is the feminist movement, which seeks to achieve real equality between men and
women.
In this way, in this Final Degree Project (FDP) a research and analysis on the concept of
fashion and feminism is carried out. In addition, it is studied how both concepts are related at
a social level and at a communicative level. Thus, this study allows to check whether fashion
(as a communicative tool) has favored the consolidation and awareness of the feminist
movement in society.
The realization of this FDP has been carried out through research and content analysis, as well
as the preparation of different interviews with professionals: Concha Pérez, expert fashion
journalist, professor and director of the Master's in Entrepreneurship in Communication and
Fashion at the University of Sevilla; Francis Montesinos, fashion designer with a great career
and recognitions behind him; and Susana Golf, journalist and director of the URBAN
magazine of Levante-EMV.
In general, the conclusions that can be drawn show how fashion, thanks to its great ability to
communicate and disseminate, has favored the evolution and consolidation of the feminist
movement. Although, at the moment, it is still necessary to implement more changes that help
this evolution.
