Asesinos en serie: aproximación teórica y revisión de casos

Abstract

Aunque parezca algo más típico de películas o series policíacas, el fenómeno del asesino serial es algo muy real y muy peligroso que lleva instalado en nuestra sociedad desde hace mucho tiempo. Su estudio es más bien reciente si lo comparamos con la historia vivida pero lo cierto es que se ha avanzado mucho en las últimas décadas debido a que cada vez han sido más las disciplinas que han dedicado sus recursos a estudiar dicho tipo de criminalidad. El objetivo del presente trabajo es aproximarse a la realidad del fenómeno del asesino serial a través de las aportaciones de los autores más relevantes en la materia. Para ello se hace alusión a la controversia sobre la definición del mismo: algunos defienden que es el homicidio de dos o más víctimas, otros de tres o más y otros no establecen cantidad. A las tipologías existentes, siendo la más relevante la aportada por el FBI que los cataloga como organizados (psicópatas) y desorganizados (psicóticos). Y a las motivaciones que pueden tener: visionario, misionario, hedonista y poder/control. Y por último, también se explica qué es el perfil criminal, los tipos que hay y los elementos en los que hay que fijarse para su elaboración, ya que es una herramienta fundamental para poder detenerlos.Toda esta teoría se acompaña con la exposición de casos relevantes de asesinos en serie que conmocionaron nuestra sociedad con sus crímenes, como Ted Bundy y John Wayne Gacy en Estados Unidos o incluso en España el llamado “Asesino de la baraja”. La descripción de estos casos ejemplifica perfectamente la teoría aportada y muestra que son un peligro real. Violaciones, necrofilia, sadismo e incluso canibalismo son los rasgos más comunes que se observan en sus crímenes y que demuestran el gran daño que pueden causar estos depredadores de su propia especie.

Although it seems something more typical of films or detective series, the phenomenon of serial killer is something very real and very dangerous that has been installed in our society since long time ago. His study is rather recent if compared to the vivid story but the truth is that it is has come a long way in the decades since increasingly have been more disciplines who have dedicated their resources to study this type of criminality. The objective of the present study is approaching the reality of the phenomenon of serial killer through the contributions of the most relevant authors in the matter. This is referred to the controversy over the definition of the same: some argue that it is the killing of two or more victims, others of three or more and others don’t establish quantity. To existing types, that provided by the FBI that classifies them as organized (psychopaths) being the most relevant and disorganized (psychotic). And motivations that may have: visionary, missionary, hedonist, and power/control. Finally, It also explains what the criminal profile, types that there are and the elements that must be set for processing, since it’s an essential tool to be able stop them. All this theory is accompanied with exposure to relevant cases of assassins in series that shook our society with their crimes, as Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacy in United States or even in Spain called "The deck killer". The description of these cases perfectly exemplifies the provided theory and shows that they are a real danger. Rape, necrophilia, sadism and even cannibalism are the most common features that are seen in their crimes and it shows the great damage that can cause these predators of their own species.
