Along this work we are going to describe the design, implementation and evaluation of a neuropsychological rehabilitation program carried out in the case of a 56 years old patient admitted to the socio-medical center Dr. Esquerdo. This patient has a history of personality disorder and schizophrenia, and over the last year has been gradually adding a stage of cognitive impairment with behavioral disorders diagnosed as incipient dementia syndrome of vascular etiology. Prior to the program, an evaluation of the case was conducted by the information obtained from interviews with the patient and his wife, and through the administration of various tools (Barcelona Test, WCST, TMT, Stroop, NPI Cummings, Barthel Index, and Lawton and Brody Scale). In view of the results, an 8 sessions program of approximately 90 minutes each one was designed. It was centered on working attention and executive functions, adapting the tasks to the interests and needs of the patient as much as possible. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the program, a post evaluation was performed by administering the same tests used at the beginning, and interviewing his wife again for check if the worked tasks had been used in the everyday life of the patient. Post evaluation shows significant improvement in the worked areas, which spread to other environments of patient’s life. As proposal for the future, it might be useful to assess if that improvement was maintained over time.
