Previous studies have shown that in patients with fibromyalgia (FM) there is an imbalance in the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) and parasympathetic nervous system (PNSA) that could explain the main symptoms of this pathology, such as chronic pain and Fatigue. Heart rate variability (HRV) is one of the measures most used as an indicator of neurovegetative activity, although the results are conclusive regarding its relation to pain, it highlights the absence of the work that the relationship with fatigue. The objective of this study is to relate the neurovegetative activity with the symptoms of pain and fatigue in people with FM. In this study 32 women with FM participated. The HRV was evaluated using the EC-12R electrocardiogram and the level of pain and fatigue was measured using a numerical scale. Significant relationships were obtained between pain and SNS and PANS, and PANS with fatigue; Although there is no relationship between SNS and fatigue. In conclusion, the relationship of neurovegetative activity, evaluated with HRV, to the main symptoms of FM such as pain and fatigue is confirmed. Therefore, the use of HRV is considered as an indicator of these symptoms in FM.
