Cardiovascular diseases are related to risk factors such as diabetes, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, belonging to the male sex, hypertension, and smoking. In addition, several chronic psychological factors have been associated with this chronic illness, such as: anxiety, type A behavior pattern, depression, perceived support, hostility and quality of life and impulsivity. The main objective of this program has been to evaluate its effectiveness, the psychological improvement of these patients and prevent them from suffering a cardiac event again. This program has been implemented together with the cardiac rehabilitation program at the General University Hospital of Alicante. After the intervention and evaluation of the 16 patients, significant improvement results were obtained, with a p-value = 0.038 in the depression factor. Patients also improve in the factors of quality of life and perception of health. Due to the small sample and that it is a pilot study, no significant improvements were found in the rest of the factors. For some significant data in future studies, we should obtain superior samples.
