Resumen :
Estudios previos han demostrado la relación entre una elevada Sensibilidad del Procesamiento Sensorial (SPS) y problemas de salud tanto física como mental, afectando también a variables de tipo cognitivo como la memoria. Previous studies have shown the relationship between a high Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS) and both physical and mental health problems, also affecting cognitive and memory variables. The objective of this research is the study of the SPS variable in a sample of young Spanish subjects and its relationship with psychological variables (state anxiety trait, perceived stress, obsession-compulsion and personality), and cognitive as memory. Likewise, the cardiovascular response and the memory of a stressor are studied, depending on the SPS variable. The sample was composed of 44 subjects, university students aged between 18 and 38 years. The SPS was measured by the Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). For the psychological variables the STAI, the Perceived Stress Scale, the LSB-50 and EPQR-A were used. The memory was evaluated with the WAIS IV digit test, the Wechsler Word List and IAPS. The stressor used was the cold pressure test with social evaluation, the Socially Evaluated Cold Pressor Test (SECPT) and blood pressure and heart rate were measured. The results show us a relationship between a high SPS and psychological variables. Regarding the physiological and memory variables, no relationship has been found with SPS.
